Microsoft interested in Dell buyout: WSJ

Microsoft Corp. is engaged in talks related to possible buyout of Dell Inc., a media report said Tuesday.

Microsoft is reportedly considering joining an investor group to help finance the Dell buyout, potentially investing roughly $2 billion in the deal, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing an unnamed source.

Shares of Dell rose 2% to $13.09, while Microsoft was down a fraction at $27.06.

Neither company released an official statement on the rumor.
